Waybill
By the name consignment note we mean a transport document that accompanies the goods during transport and contains all the information about them.
Brief description
The waybill is most often a document that accompanies the goods during transportation in order to specify them precisely. Thus, it shows both the shipper and the consignee information and the number of pieces, weight, description of the goods, as well as other specific data such as the method of transshipment, transport rules and delivery times. Ideally, the data from the letter match the data from the receipt of goods and the invoice.
The waybill is also used by carriers and forwarders as a confirmation of delivery, since the consignee of the goods must sign the waybill, which confirms that the goods have been delivered as agreed.
Increasingly, in some industries, such as the automotive industry, electronic waybills are being used. With this, the delivery data is electronically sent directly to the consignee as soon as the goods are shipped, so that the consignee is informed in advance of what goods will be delivered.
