A forklift is defined as a transport vehicle used in intra-company transportation, which is mostly used for handling pallets in a warehouse or between warehouses.

Brief description
Forklifts are among the most commonly used types of stackers, characterized in particular by their ability to lift objects vertically. They are made up of a lifting mast and a forklift carrier. On the carrier there are two sliding, equally spaced sharp ends (forks), moved vertically by hydraulics, as well as partially horizontally.
In addition to the commonly used forklift, it is also encountered in practice:
  • container forklifts
  • side forklifts
  • high lift and low lift trucks
  • commissioning carts
  • hand trucks
  • rotary carriages
Depending on the company and the purpose of use, machines of various sizes, types, drives are encountered. These machines are powered by combustion engines and electric motors. Stackers that are driven by internal combustion are divided according to the type of fuel, which can be diesel gas, diesel or natural gas. In the case of electric stackers, we distinguish between DC and three-phase drives. Hybrid-powered units are also becoming more common.
