Rule cards
Rule cards or Run Charts are used to analyze data changes in a time course. In this way, trends, cycles, structures and patterns, i.e. systematic and accidental changes in processes, can be recognized and analyzed, and the limits of accidental changes in processes can be determined.
Brief description
From the data for process changes, control limits are calculated to recognize specific changes in the time course and thus be able to control the process, for example, by taking tool wear scattered over time or observing a steady increase or decrease in the average value. Rule cards are primarily used for error recognition, error avoidance as well as quality improvement.
The rule sheet as a time-correlated statistical test shows the development of the data and thus visualizes the occurrence of extreme values outside the control limits, which are no longer random vagaries, but should be interpreted as systematic phenomena. Through this, possible sources of error can be recognized early on and can then begin to counteract them early on.
