RFID stands for Radio Frequency Identification and describes a method of reading and writing data without contact and without eye contact.
Brief description
RFID is often used as an umbrella term for a combined technical infrastructure. Such an RFID system includes a transmitter, a transceiver unit as well as integration with servers, functions and other systems. Data is stored on the transmitter and made available using radio waves. Depending on the application, the frequencies used, the strength of the transmitter as well as environmental influences, the distance at which the transmitter can be read varies and ranges from a few centimeters to several kilometers.
