B2B - Business-to-Business
Business-to-Business (B2B) refers to electronic business contacts between companies. These contacts include inter-company communications, as well as reflecting company processes in procurement, marketing and sales.
Brief description
B2B is the highest turnover and most successful area of E-Commerce. Its creation took place in three stages. It began with the first use of Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) in the 1970s. Later, with the help of the Internet, there was a breakthrough with online directories, where information about products and companies is up-to-date and made available at low cost. Electronic marketplaces (E-Markets, 1999) have eliminated online catalogs. Unlike catalogs, where one could only receive information, in E-Markets there is an opportunity for participants to actively communicate with each other.
Phases
The B2B scope includes the following 4 phases:
1.Information and selection of products and services
2.Agree on quantities, prices and terms of delivery
3.Carry out delivery and payment
4.Customer service
