The concept of liability generally describes responsibility for specific acts or omissions. A distinction is made here between statutory liability and contractual liability, with the latter, the obligation of liability deriving from the contract entered into and not from the law.
Brief description
In the logistics environment, liability extends from carriers, freight forwarders or companies offering logistics services (in particular, it applies to compensation in the event of damage or loss of transported or stored goods), as well as delayed delivery. Liability between the parties is most often regulated by the freight forwarder's general terms and conditions (in Austria: AÖSp), general terms and conditions or by separate, individual agreements.
