Forwarding insurance and delivery insurance are understood to be mandatory insurances that every freight forwarder must take out when carrying out transportation for its customers.
Brief description
Each freight forwarder is obliged, if the principal does not expressly express this in writing by a statement of prohibition, to insure at the expense of the principal the damages that may arise during the execution of the order. The forwarder must remit the fee during each individual transport order to the insurer of his choice. At the request of the principal, the forwarder is obliged to show where the insurance is taken out. These insurances cover those damages that occur to the freight forwarder or logistics service provider during transport from and to the customer, as well as during handling and storage.
