The frequency of reloading shows how often resources are exchanged in the warehouse, i.e. theoretically it is completely emptied and filled again.
Brief description
High frequency of reloading is an indicator of efficient logistics and a condition for reducing the cost of tying up capital. Also, this indicator allows to divide the products in the warehouse into fast- and slow-moving ones. The factor is calculated in such a way that the consumption (seen ex-post) or demand (seen ex-ante, based on the value of forecasts for future periods) is divided by the average stock of warehouse resources. Thus, for example: reload frequency 5 means that a warehouse is emptied (sold out or consumed) five times in a certain unit of time and re-filled.
Designs
Transshipment frequency = consumption in the period [pcs] / average stock [pcs].
Transshipment frequency = number of periods per year [days/months/years] / range [days/months/years].
