The acronym GLN (Global Location Number) stands for a system of uniquely identifying physical and legal entities.
Brief description
Using GLN, all locations within the supply chain can be described and identified. A physical location is described here as: address, floor of a building, warehouse, loading ramp, delivery or receiving point, etc. In addition, legal terms such as company, subsidiary, service provider, customer or similar fields can also be included in this way.
13 - local GLN consists of GS1-basic number (assigned by the national organization for GS1). The basic number is assigned serially for the identification of the unit (assigned by the responsible company for a specific location), a check digit (calculated by the standard logarithm of the issued digits) also belongs here.
