The flow rate is a number derived from production that determines how the execution time and development time of one product behave in relation to each other.
Brief description
The number of the degree of flow gives what multiple of the development time, measured on the overall execution time travels the observed object in the production system. In this way, it is possible to see to what extent the flow rule with correspondingly short breaks and waiting time has been realized in the production process. The higher the degree of flow, the higher the share of transportation time and downtime in the total execution time. A high degree of flow therefore generally indicates high resources.
Formula
Flow rate = overall execution time / development time
Flow rate = (development time + transport time + downtime) / development time
