EUL stands for Efficient Unit Load and describes a concept from the fields of packaging, warehousing, transportation, which is all about optimizing logistics units.
Brief description
At the center of this concept is the idea of surface and capacity optimization of logistics units, such that high surface and capacity loading occurs along the entire supply chain. The starting point here is the standardization of logistics units that are used in Supply Chain.
Further, the issue of modularity plays an important role. Based on the 600 x 400 mm basic area model, one aims for units that are multiples (e.g. 1200 x 800 mm) or partial measures (e.g. 400 x 300 mm, 300 x 200 mm), respectively.
The EUL concept is aimed at improving transportation, handling, storage processes. Only if all contained parties along the cargo chain are utilized can it lead to cost and time savings.
