Transit is defined as transport and freight streams that cross an area (most often a country), with the point of origin and destination of that stream lying outside that region.

 
Brief description
From a customs point of view, it is said to be transit if physical goods and commodities are transported through the country's territory without being included in the so-called free circulation of goods, i.e. they are not dutiable.
