Generic production is similar to mass production and is a special case of mass production. The difference is that the batch that will be produced is very large (generic), and the goods produced in terms of raw material and production flow are very similar and differ only in certain properties.
Advantages
Concentration of work preparation, manufacturing process and distribution tasks of the product, which is produced in large quantities.
Ability to rationalize manufacturing runs
Making the best possible use of the means of production leads to a degression of fixed costs and therefore a reduction in costs.
Disadvantages
Missing production flexibility
Inflexibility of the enterprise i.e. production lines cannot be easily rearranged.
