With the notion of shrinking around the cargo unit, a plastic film is stretched and subjected to heating to about 180 to 220 degrees. Softened after heating, the film shrinks as it cools. It adheres firmly to the goods, stabilizes them and, in the case of a pallet unit, forms a connection with the pallet.
Brief description
Although shrink film creates, through its high hardness, excellent transportation security and theft protection, it also has the advantage of transparency (the advertising media on the goods remain clearly visible), it is declining in favor of stretch film. The reasons for this are higher costs, more waste, energy costs for heating the film and greater time expenditure.
