Bimodal units are transport units used for bimodal road and rail transportation in Europe.
Brief description
Bimodal units can be used as transport units for both road and rail transportation. As a rule, they are 6250 mm or 7150 mm long, 2500 mm wide and 2600 mm high, making them identical in size to regular containers. Bimodal units cannot be stacked on top of each other. The advantage of bimodal units lies in the extendable feet, which, in combination with the lifting device most often mounted on them, allow seating and removal without the need for fixed local aids.
