Workflow analysis

By process analysis or workflow analysis we mean the analysis, representation and evaluation of processes and workflows within an enterprise or value creation chain. All relationships between the involved people, activities, work resources and funds are examined and recorded.
Brief description
The presentation of the workflow analysis usually takes a graphic form in the form of a flowchart, supported by explanatory texts and supplemented by insights. The purpose of this type of analysis is often to clearly describe and establish the course of work in the enterprise, standardize processes, as well as increase the transparency of activities. Among other things, the results of a process analysis can be the determination of the actual times and costs of individual work steps, as well as the identification of value-generating and non-value-generating activities (disruptions, preparation times, storage times, etc.) in an enterprise. In order to graphically and understandably present the runs, software systems such as ARIS, ADONIS, or MS VISIO are used.
Method of proceeding
The following rules of conduct should be observed to reach the destination quickly:
1)Demarcation and clear definition of the chosen scope
2)Determination of who performs the activities.
3)What or what proceedings are being conducted?
4)Where are the activities carried out?
5)When and in what order do the processes take place?
6)What/what support materials do you work with?
If all this data is collected and made available, the current situation in the department can be presented. Very often this is the starting point for optimization activities, as well as the emergence of a process to lead to the expected results.
