T1 (also T1 document) is the term for a customs document used during transport between one customs office and another.
Brief description
The T1 document or customs shipping receipt is intended to accompany the customs goods during transport so that the quantity and value of the goods remain visible. If as soon as the customs goods enter the EU area at the first customs office (border customs office, airport, seaport) they are not dutiable then the T1 document accompanies the imported goods until final customs clearance at the place of receipt.
The T1 document has a maximum validity period of 8 days within Europe. During this time, it must be delivered to the customs office, where it will be completed through customs.
