Pick-by-Voice
The term "Pick-by-Voice" corresponds to the latest generation of voice-controlled picking. Through Headset, the entire picking process is controlled, and effective dialogue with the warehouse management system is also possible.
Brief description
Pick-by-Voice enables communication with the warehouse management system, with the administrative effort of the picking process reduced to a minimum. Pick lists become redundant with this system. Picking takes place, depending on the technical implementation, either via special Voice-Clients or via a PDA (personal digital assistant), which is in common use, communicates online with the warehouse management system and enables continuous tracking of picking processes.
Employees who are picking goods receive their orders by acoustic transmission via Headset and can confirm them immediately afterwards via microphone. Clear advantages of this system include a reduction in errors or an increase in production. Through increased freedom of movement (hands and eyes are free), picking operations can be sped up while gaining in quality and reliability.
