Materials management is understood as the acquisition, transportation, storage, reuse and disposal of materials, unfinished products, waste, trade goods, spare parts, benefits and information. Not all functions apply to all facilities.

The measuring quantities of effective material management are: sufficient service and delivery readiness, cost reduction, low resources and short execution time.
