Material flow is further described by the following three components:
The functional component considers the relationship between the preparation, transportation and storage methods to be used. The spatial component is concerned with the physical arrangement of the manufacturing system in existing structures or structures that need to be created. The last aspect describes the behavior of material flow in terms of time.
