Uhlsport - the world's leading sportswear manufacturer. Founded in 1948, the company manufactures game balls, goalkeeper gloves, training clothing, sports protectors. Uhlsport supplies the leading soccer teams of England, Italy, Germany, Spain, France. Uhlsport exports its products to 50 countries around the world.
In Swabian Bailingen, all the strong brands are at home. Photos from the World Handball Championships that show the Kempa brand on players' jerseys are still current, and it's hard to find a team on the German basketball scene not equipped by Spalding, so too has Uhlsport completely developed the market for soccer goalies. Therefore, international sporting goods suppliers have focused on the need for a well-functioning package. To ensure that both professional and amateur athletes receive their items quickly, Intralog Ltd. designed and manufactured complete conveyor systems. On an area of 9,000m2, up to 40,000 items are repacked daily.
This calls for a future-oriented solution for component identification that does not restrict data flow. A flagship example of this is the BCL 34 scanner, which with its integrated PROFIBUS address bus , with extremely fast data communication makes something like this possible. At Uhlsport GmbH, BCL 34s have been used to control the flow of goods, which allow data flows of up to 12Mbit/s. The direct data stream between the BCL34 and PROFIBUS makes it possible to take full advantage of its capabilities. BCL 34s have been installed at 15 picking stations, where containers are identified by barcode. Another advantage is that no other tools are needed. In addition, all important parameters can be set directly via PROFIBUS. The good cooperation between conveyors and optics is praised by logistics head Heiner Löffler as follows: "I have to bet on the high efficiency of the plant. What is ordered today must already be at the customer's site tomorrow." Dariusz Dziwosz of Intralog sp. z o.o. is also pleased with himself. (formerly DDintra.net): "Because of the BCL34's reduced mounting depth and extremely short reading distance, it is possible to mount it in almost any location, which makes it so unique."
