The concept of tributary in the area of transport in the field of collective cargo corresponds to transport from the moment of the collective receiving shipper to the final consignee.
Brief description
The aforementioned term defines the release of goods, which, for example, have been received during the shipper's bulk transport and from that point on are distributed to the end customer. Since only a few (mostly large companies) have a direct connection to the waterway network or the rail network, hence the inflow of goods is usually via trucks, therefore this part of the transport chain is assigned great importance (see also the term: Last Mile Logistic).
