HART company from Opole, was established in 1990. The object of its activity is wholesale of parts for cars, motorcycles and confectioning of goods under the private HART brand. The wholesaler's offer is addressed to automotive trade establishments and service workshops.
In January 2009, a storage order consolidation station was put into operation. The capacity of the station is several hundred cuvettes per hour. Automatic sliding doors take care of employee safety. The consolidation station uses the latest available technology: Simatic-57 PLC controllers made by Siemens, latest generation accumulation conveyors, Sick barcode readers, pick-to-light technology. The information system controlling the station was created specifically for the project. Stable and efficient operation of the system is ensured by Oracle technology.
For organizational reasons, the warehouse is divided into picking zones. A customer's order, when entered into the warehouse management system in the form of a release order, is automatically divided into parts. An employee working in a zone receives only the part corresponding to his zone. The order picking process is started in parallel in all zones. Each worker, after finishing picking, puts the container back on the roller conveyor and proceeds to the next order. Containers from the picking zones are automatically transported to the shipping zone. Containers arrive at the zone in different order and may involve different orders.
The ordering of containers is carried out by an order consolidation station. At the heart of the station are two automatic carousel shelves. Each order is dynamically assigned a shelf. The system automatically identifies the arriving container and activates the carousel rack. The correct shelf, corresponding to the order, pulls up automatically. In addition, a pick-to-light display indicates where the container should be placed. When the carousel rack completes all the containers pertaining to a given order, the shelf with the containers automatically pulls up. The pick-to-light system indicates which containers should be unloaded from the rack for packing into shipping containers.
